Until 2014, he was Executive Administrator of the PRODUCECH - Production Technologies Center and Director of INESC Porto - Institute of Systems and Computers Engineering of Porto.
He is also a member of the High Level Group of the MANUFUTURE Technology Platform and Chairman of its Implementation Support Group.
He is a member of the Board of EFFRA - European Factories of the Future Research Organization.

Began his career as an Operational Consultant.


Jerome has played a key role as one of the first SMAS team members in setting up and establishing SMAS across Scotland. Jerome has provided leadership for several key strategic roles within SMAS as well as wider roles within Scottish Enterprise building a strong network of industrial partners and businesses.
Jerome has also been a key speaker at several global operational excellence conferences in Europe as well as the UK.
Prior to SMAS Jerome developed a strong manufacturing background with over 21 years experience in operational management roles with Grand Metropolitan, Johnson and Johnson and The Glenmorangie Whisky Company.

I have studied philosophy atFaculdade de Letras of the Universidade do Porto , but at the end of the third year i switched into journalism. I worked on the radio for ten years(RDP) where I was simultaneously a daily collaborator in RTP. In 2001 I came to TVI where I have been doing work in various areas. I was in Pakistan after the collapse of the Twin Towers in October 2001. I have been covering election campaigns; recently in addition to my role as editor I am doing a program of interviews with various personalities of national life for TVI24.


For 13 years he was administrator at the Logoplaste Group, heading the financial, commercial, and information systems areas. Recently he has been providing consultancy services for a number of companies as well as developing an own project for an art gallery.
He is, since 2017, professor at AESE where he lectures Business Policies as well as in Angola School of Management. He authored several case studies published by AESE.

Since graduating from Copenhagen Business School in Finance and Strategic Management, Rui has been advising clients on how to take advantage of disruptive forces, as well as supporting the implementation of transformational projects.
He is currently focused on supporting governmental and private clients dealing with the opportunities, and mitigating the risks, associated with industry 4.0, by developing and implementing strategies that support sustained long term growth.




For most of his career he has been working as a consultant accessing and managing European funded projects in a broad range of areas, namely capacity building, SME support, sustainability, entrepreneurship, etc. During a two-year spell he worked in Brussels for a business network and as an EU-affairs representative.
He has been in COTEC since 2018, where he is leads the development of international projects for COTEC, mainly in the areas of Cybersecurity, training for the digital age, workplace transformations and circular economy.


Jorge earned his graduation, MSc and PhD studies in mechanical engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon. He earned a MBA from NOVA School of Business and Economics and he attended an Advanced Leadership Program on Cybersecurity from US Department of State.
