José Bandeira

Born in Porto in 1955, it was also in Porto and always in public schools that José Bandeira made his studies, since primary school in the eastern zone of the city, grammar school at Liceu de Alexandre Herculano and University at Faculdade de Ciências and Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, he’s a genuine product of Porto’s culture with everything that this meant at the time.Coming from a family with 2 generations of workers that made themselves small merchants from one side, but also from banned aristocracy on the other, as well as industry, it was very clear since a very early age that he wanted to become an Engineer in the sense of being capable to create new realities and always defy all borders. And so he did, completing his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1977 with the best classification in his class. It resulted from what was stated above someone that got in close contact with a very wide social spectrum and the clear notion from the family example that limits is something you define, not an unquestionable karma. With a professional life started as Teaching Assistant at FEUP for 3 years, then as Plant Manager for 5, he ended up constituting his own company at the age of 30, where he keeps having fun in pursuing the technologic leadership in the markets he is involved with.Always standing on Team Building and believing that in a company people is the main asset, provided that they have continuous access to knowledge, he keeps creating future under Peter Drucker’s words: “The Best way to predict the Future is to create it!”
